When will the product be available?

We will be online to set up accounts starting May 1, 2008.

Why should we sign up early?

To show our appreciation to our pre-launch clients, we are waiving monthly fees for the first 6 months of service. That's $300-900 in saving.

Can residents still send a check?

Yes, they can. For those clients wishing to operate though mail versus online, we are accepting and processing checks at our lockbox location. All checks should be sent to

Check payments will be logged into our system and are traceable along with the online (ACH) payments.

What is 'ACH'?

ACH stands for Automated Clearing House. ACH credits and debits are transactions handled electronically. In accordance with the rules and regulations of ACH, no financial institution may simply issue an ACH transaction (whether it be debit or credit) towards an account without prior authorization from the account holder. Your submittal of payment on directHOA.com is your authorization for us to submit an ACH file debiting your HOA dues payment. The ACH file transmits your payment by using your account and routing numbers (same as a check) through the secure network established by the Federal Reserve and NACHA. Your bank verifies the account and the availablity of funds and sends the payment back.

Why not credit cards?

Credit card companies charge the vendor (in this case the HOA) a percentage of the transaction to process the payment. That cost may be 2-3%. When there are 100's of transactions per month, that can add up in a hurry. We charge NOTHING for ACH transaction. Other online payment gateways charge $0.25-$1 per ACH transaction. We don't!

Also, homeowner's dues are budgeted amounts. If your residents don't have the liquidity to pay their HOA dues, you want to be one of the first to know. If they get behind in their mortgage payments, and get foreclosed upon, the mortgage will be satisfied long before the HOA will see any delinquent dues. The sooner you know there is trouble, the better.

Why is there a fee for sending a check and none for an ACH payment?

While an ACH transaction occurs automatically, with little human involvement, a check has multiple layers of human interaction to make sure the transaction occurs properly. Envelopes must be opened and properly recycled. While we use a check scanner, the information still needs to be verified by hand. We charge a fee to the HOA (may vary depending on contract). That HOA may choose to pass a charge along to the residents still sending in checks as an encouragement to sign up for the free ACH transaction.

Is my financial information safe?

Yes. Very Safe. We meet or exceed all security standards established by the Federal Reserve, the Department of the Treasury, and NACHA.

Do you share my personal information with anyone else?

No. Outside of transmitting payment information through the banking network, your personal information will not be shared with any other person or company outside of PaymentBanking LLC.

Can I still send a check directly to my HOA?

It's not recommended. Your association has contracted with us to handle the receipt of all payments. We are taking all deposits and data entry activity off their hands. Any checks sent directly to your Association's address (and not directHOA) will have to be forwarded to us, delaying the turn around time and potentially resulting in a late fee.

My computer won't show me a page. What can I do?

Sometimes firewall protection may be too strict to allow you to view a secure page that you have not visited previously. You may need to add our site to your list of approved websites.
